For your consideration, an excellent copy of the large slim volume of Edmund Spenser's “Prothalamion : Epithalamion” designed by Bruce Rogers and printed by hand at the Riverside Press, the captive printing plant of Houghton, Mifflin, in 1902. Decorations in old red on India paper after Edward Blashfield.
Printed by hand in an edition of 419 copies in Brimmer type (later identified as Bell). Full bound in yellow paper with orange pigment stamping to spine and case front.
No 3/440 copies.
Riverside Press Edition no. 13.
No previous owner's marks. Solid joints and hinges, square corners, and tight bright text block. The tissue guards are less fine.
This copy has it's rare original dust jacket protected in mylar. Slight soiling, chipping and minor loss to the jacket, but otherwise an excellent copy.
